Hungary

Hungary is a well-known, popular filming location with beautiful natural countryside. The nation's rough history has left a wealth of various architectural styles all over the country, including roman ruins, Turkish baths and mosques, medieval castles, ornate palaces, and socialist behemoths.

Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is one of Europe's most beautiful metropolises, where both the interiors and exteriors offer themselves as settings for historically-themed films, and where 19th century, 1930's or 1950's Paris, Berlin or Vienna can easily be realistically brought to life on film. The city features many examples of classical, secessionist, and today's modern European architecture. Budapest has also stood in for various other cities, including Moscow, Berlin, and Buenos Aires.

Not to be forgotten is Budapest's cultural life and its various entertainment opportunities. The world's stars have long enjoyed the city's beauty, atmosphere and comfort. The capital city is today a cosmopolitan hub of music, culture and art, full of galleries, theater and opera performances, and various concerts. New, elegant restaurants, lounges and clubs dominate the downtown, serving an ever-more discerning local and international crowd. Budapest is also the thermal bath capital of Europe, with many old Turkish and elegant classical thermal baths.

Hungary is a relatively flat country, with large open plains and rolling hills and valleys, huge wheat and sunflower fields, and plenty of vineyards (making for plenty of excellent wines). The continental climate provides four full seasons and comfortable summers with up to 16 hours of sunlight.
